Tales from IT: Man Vs Pager

In the IT department where I first worked, there was a Network Admin who was a bit ‘highly strung’. He’d get quite short when things got tense and he liked things done the way things were always done (he supported the physical network and Novell; this was in the time when Microsoft NT was just starting to make inroads into business).

The New Arrival

I’ve never really got on with dogs.   I can remember only too clearly being chased around by them as a child, these huge,  giant, noisy, chaos engines (the giant thing might have been more to do with my diminutive stature rather than all the dogs being Great Danes though).   Plus as an adult I’ve been wary about how much effort it’ll need to do a good job raising them.

But I have children and my wife loves dogs so cue furry meteor exploding into our house…

Iceland : Day 4

Woke up today with aches and pains where I wasn’t even aware I had body-parts.  Apparently all the contortions I pulled to keep the right horse-riding posture were pretty new to a body finely-tuned and optimised for long-term computer use.  Luckily, we were booked to visit The Blue Lagoon;  a large geothermally heated spa.

Time to regenerate damaged muscles in mineral-rich, heated water.Bacta Tank
