LAN Party Games

There’s nothing like a LAN Party. Being able to get together, meet your friends face-to-face and then shoot them is brilliant fun. I’ve been going to these since the second ever Insomnia, though now we all pile around someone’s house rather than a large room in Swindon Football Club.

PowerShell : Get Folder Size on Disk, One-Line Command

I mentioned in the last part that you should be able to get the sizes of sub-folders within a folder with Measure-Object and Group-Object.  So I had a bit of a tinker as an intellectual exercise and I worked up a one-liner that works.  Ish.  As I mentioned previously, this won’t automatically add the size of each sub-folder to the parent folder (so in the results you’d get C:\Source as 10 KB and C:\Source\Sub as 100 MB, for example).

Still, it was pretty interesting to hack it together.  The command and a brief explanation follows.

Marvel Heroes 2015

 

Marvel Heroes 2015 (or previously, Marvel Heroes Online) has just passed it’s first year Marvel Heroes 2015anniversary.  I started playing at release and have jumped back into it on-and-off throughout that year.  Marvel Heroes has undergone some massive changes since its release and it’s probably my favourite ARGP;  I loved Diablo 3 and Path of Exile but Marvel Heroes just keeps luring me back.

Of course this may not be the most balanced description because I could hypothetically be a massive comics / Marvel fanboy.   This may have some small grain of truth but I’ll be objective and rational as much as possible.

So read on to find out about Marvel Heroes 2015;  why it’s totally brilliant and why you should be playing it right now instead of doing other productive things with your life.
